National Grinding Material and Tool Industry Measurement and Testing Center established! The first of its kind for the National Machinery Industry Group.

On May 20, the National Abrasive and Grinding Industry Measurement and Testing Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), established based on the national key laboratory (Zhengzhou Abrasive, Grinding Wheel and Grinding Research Institute Co., Ltd.), was officially inaugurated. Wang Jianfang, member of the Party group and vice director of the Henan Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and Yan Ning, chairman and general manager of National Machinery Diamond (Henan) Co., Ltd., jointly unveiled the center. The establishment of the center marks the official operation of the first national-level industrial measurement and testing center approved by the National Machinery Group and the only one in Henan Province.

Open Day event at the National Key Laboratory of High-Performance Tools (Guangdong University of Technology)

On the afternoon of May 28, 2025, Dr. Yang Jianzhang, a doctoral student at the State Key Laboratory of High Performance Tools, led a group of high school students from Guangzhou No. 1 Middle School on a visit to the State Key Laboratory of High Performance Tools (Guangdong University of Technology). Dr. Yang introduced the laboratory's research achievements and applications in superhard tools, micro-fine tools, and minimally invasive tools, sparking the students' scientific interest. The students experienced firsthand the design, manufacturing, and processing of high-performance tools, gaining a deeper understanding of high-performance tools and personally experiencing how manufacturing makes human life better.

2025 Open Project Application Guide of the State Key Laboratory of High-Performance Tools

The National Key Laboratory of High-Performance Tools (hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory") is the only national collaborative innovation base in China that integrates industry, academia, research, and application, bringing together top innovative resources in the industry, organically integrating them deeply, and possessing a full-chain innovation system for high-performance tools. Adhering to the guideline of "facing the four modernizations", the laboratory aims to build a world-class national key laboratory. The laboratory focuses on the technological challenges faced by national key areas such as aerospace, semiconductor integrated circuits, new energy equipment, land and sea transportation (ships, rail transit, new energy vehicles, etc.), and high-end CNC machine tools. It conducts research in four directions: cutting/grinding mechanism research, advanced design and manufacturing technology research for high-performance tools, advanced application technology research for high-performance tools, and tool performance evaluation methods and standards research. It conducts in-depth innovative research on the theory, materials, design, manufacturing, and application of high-performance tools, breaks through key technological bottlenecks, builds a scientific and technological innovation platform for high-performance tools, cultivates excellent innovative talents, and builds the laboratory into a research institution with distinctive characteristics and international advancement in this field. It will meet major national needs and become a national strategic scientific and technological force with international influence and high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.

On May 30, a delegation of four people led by He Bo, member of the Party Committee and vice general manager of China Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd., visited the laboratory for technical exchange. Sun Guan Nan, assistant general manager and head of the Technology Development Department of National Machine Tool Diamond, and Zhao Jiong, executive deputy director of the National Key Laboratory, warmly received them. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as the scientific research management system of reorganized scientific research institutes, the application for scientific research projects, the refinement of scientific and technological achievements, and the cultivation of emerging strategic industries.

Notice on the Public Open Day of the National Key Laboratory of High-Performance Tools in 2025

In accordance with relevant State Council regulations, and in active response to the spirit of the document "Notice on Holding the 2025 National Science and Technology Activity Week and National Science and Technology Workers' Day Activities" issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Propaganda Department, and the China Association for Science and Technology, the State Key Laboratory of High-Performance Tools has decided to hold a public open day event at the laboratory on May 24, 2025, themed "Dedication to Innovation and Development, Building a Strong Nation through Science and Technology" (hereinafter referred to as the "Public Open Day").
